Volume Control

(1 / 7)

Why don't you read the volume control pot with the A/D? The advantage
is that the operator will be able to set the volume during the game
(which is where the volume should be set) and you will be spared the
abuse from operators outraged because they have just spent $8K on a
game with a stupid volume control.

	Because all four A/D convertors are in use and I did not plan on
stuffing the 8 bit ADC.

	Well, maybe we can use this after all. I'm going to wait til Rusty
has the new code installed in RPM before I make a decision on software or
pot control of the DVC.

Jed;

	I will use the 8 bit ADC to control the volume for the interim. We
do NOT need any changes to self test for now. I will let you know if this
changes in the future.

	I believe the only self test screen turning the audio on is in the
audio test.  Is that correct?

RE: DVC control

Yes, I believe the only Self-Test screen that turns the audio on is in the
audio test; however, audio is also turned on during the automatic part of
Self-Test.

Jed;

	I believe you are right in that Brad changed the order of the self
test calls. Please tell me what you believe the standard is and I will get
Brad to use that standard in our game and Bonnie's too.

				Thanks
