Steel Talons lamp drivers.

(1 / 1)

The START button lamp on RACE RIOT is extremely dim. (It is hard to
tell if it is on or not.) the Mail message below describes the
problem. The 2N3904 solution is not significantly better to be a
complete solution. I recommend that the lighted buttons for STEEL
TALONS have 12 volt lamps, and be driven from 12 volts instead of 5
volts as is currently planned. Any Comments !

>The coin door lamp problem of yesterday was caused by having 12 volt

>Todays START BUTTON lamp problem is less easy to solve. The lamp is a
>6.3 volt lamp. We supply 5 volts. The driver that turns it on and off

>The 2N5306 drops .8 volts. There is only 4.2 volts left for the bulb

>Whatever solution needs to be decided real soon or it will be too late.
>I personally prefer to ask MFG to hand form the 2N3904s and use them.

>I do not recomment any rework. Just Phase in.
