STEEL TALONS SAIIS AUDIO BOARD PCB TEST
				G.F.M. 8/7/91

(1) SELF-TEST
	A. Apply power to the SAIIS audio pcb.
	B. Verify that the following leds are lit:
	   CR10 (-14V), CR11 (+14V), and CR4 (+5V). If one of these leds isn't
	   lit then reject the board.
	C. Slide the self-test switch to enter self-test and press ZOOM to
bypass the 2 minute automated test.
	D. Select SPECIAL FUNCTIONS
	E. Select SOUND BOARD TESTS.
	F. Select SA SELF TEST. If there is an error during this test then there
may be a problem with one of the following:
	   ROM at 1F,
	   Decode Gal at 2L,
	   6502 at 1D,
	   SCOM chip at 1L.
If there are no errors after this scom communication test then you
will hear 8 tones cycling between the left and right channels
followed by one long tone. These tones check the Yamaha circuitry.
After these tones you will hear 3 sentences followed by a sound
effect which come from the ADPCM roms in the following order:
ADPCM0 at 1M: "PRETTY GOOD" (PGOOD)
ADPCM1 at 1N: "THOSE ARE GOVERNMENT PAID FOR KID" (GOVTPAID)
ADPCM2 at 1P: "THIS IS YOUR FINAL EXAM KID GOOD LUCK" (EXAM)
ADPCM3 Sound of gunfire hitting a Tank. (TANKHIT)
If one of these sentences do not play then the corresponding rom
may have a bent pin or may be bad, or the ADPCM Gal at 2F may be bad.
These sounds can be manually played by going to the PLAY SOUNDS
screen and then selecting the names in the parentheses.
Exit this test by pressing ZOOM.
	G. Select PLAY SOUNDS
	H. Select R_CLICK and press the thumb switch to check the right coin
	   counter output.
	I. Select L_CLICK and press the thumb switch to check the left coin
	   counter output.
