Self test

(1 / 3)

Jed;

Is there a way an operator can abort (turn off self test) the hardware
self test? Once it starts there appears no way to stop it unless the power
or reset is toggled.

Are you planning to change self test to use the REAL HELI FLIGHT instead
of the coin switches?

Self-Test

(2 / 3)

You can leave Self-Test at almost any time by moving the Self-Test switch
back to the Game position. There are exceptions such as during the VRAM
tests.

If you switch back to the Game during the ROM and RAM tests it takes effect
almost immediately. If you wait until the VRAM test starts you are stuck
until the VRAM test ends.

Thereafter, I check the Self-Test switch between major tests.

You can enter the Menu, bypassing the Automatic part of Self-Test, by pressing
the Zoom buttom anytime during the initial ROM and RAM tests. (You may have
to hold the button down for a few seconds in order for the switch to be
recognized.)

Once you are in the Menu, you can leave Self-Test at any time by moving the
Self-Test switch back to the Game position. (If you discover Menus that you
cannot leave, let me know.)

The switches used during Self-Test are:

	Thumb Switch
	Trigger Switch
	Zoom Button

If you would like me to change to the Coin Switches, I will, although it will
make it extremely awkward to use.

RE: Self-Test

I stand corrected. I tried switching self test during the GSP test and
I did not see any effect for awhile, so I assumed it would wait until all tests
were done. My mistake.

I realize now that the coin switches are used by us in our portion of
self test, so I will ask Ed Rotberg to change to use the Real Flight button.
