Prototype boards

(1 / 3)

Hello. Just a quick question as to who will supply the following GALs
on the following boards when we build these for you:

    A049096-01 DS III PCB
          136087-9002, -9003, -9004

    A049349-01 DSPCOM PCB
          136087-9005, -9006

I am trying to have these boards completed by Monday, July 8th.
I've used the parts lists you gave me for everything, so, should
anything happen to change between now and then please let me know.
If you want to do the GALs yourself, let me know if I should supply
you with the raw parts. Perhaps we could give Joan a call, invite
her into your office and see what she could supply. She's good at
GALs......Anyway, let me know.....Also, did you know.....
Mary Burnias has been talking to TI. They are having problems
with the ASIC 65 falling out, not testing properly, failing, etc....
I am already short to one of my kits to the floor for Road Riot.
Is there anybody you can talk to at TI to help the situation? This
is getting to be a serious problem. Probably Mary has talked to you
  already.....
     Thanks for your help.

Sorry. One more thing. What the heck is ASIC 65b on the DSPCOM
board? Is this also 137665-1020 ? Thanks again...

Hello. Just a quick answer as to who will supply the following GALs
on the following boards when you build these for whomever:

    A049096-01 DS III PCB
          136087-9002, -9003, -9004

    A049349-01 DSPCOM PCB
          136087-9005, -9006

    You will.

(I will supply the masters if you tell me when you need them by. Also,
the JEDEC files will be available on a Floppy)

The MultiSync Board (Rev B) uses one GAL (136087-9001). Pat McCarthy is in
charge of that GAL, so I suggest you ask him.

There has been a small change to the DS III parts list. Since I am scheduled
to deliver to Leon the final changes for the DS III and DSPCOM Boards today
I will have to get back to you later today or tomorrow.

I am sorry you are having problems getting working ASIC65s from TI.

I talked to the TI rep about the ASIC65s. He said he would try to arrange
a conference call on Thursday with a TI engineer and myself. However you
should know that:

	1. I did not design this IC; TI did. I am not responsible for
ICs designed by persons other than myself.

	2. I do not run their Fab line. I am not responsible for
ICs produced on Fab lines other than my own.

        3. I am not in charge of purchasing parts; see Mary Burnias. Or
	   Tom Smith.

	4. This is the fourth TI rep we have had in the last 18 months. When
I called him he didn't have a clue as to who I was even after I
	   introduced myself.

Regarding ASIC65b. When we programmed parts for Race Drivin' we put an
'ok' label on them. For Roard Riot we put a 'B'. For Steel Talons we will
put a 'C'. I thought it would be nice to indicate on the parts list which
went with what game. I have since reconsidered and the parts list will simply
say 'ASIC 65'.

Jed
