We have a test copy of a program called User Basics Tutor. This program is supposed to be a learning tool where one can gain a very basic understanding of the operation and use of a Vax computer. This program is only for the very novice users or those who don't know diddly about a computer. It'll take about 2 hours to run through the program, but anytime after the first 5 minutes (the first lesson), you can stop and be able to resume the course at a later time. I think the program expires in a couple of days, so today and tomorrow are the only time you have to try this. I signed up as a test location for it and have some simple before and after questionaires that the writers asked that those who run the tutor complete. In any event, let me know what you think of it, good or bad (I have some strong opinions already). You can run it the next time you login or RESTART by entering UBT at the dollar sign prompt. It draws a picture of a keyboard which may or may not match the keyboard you are using. The PF1, PF2, PF4 and ENTER or RETURN keys are about the only ones of significance. If you can find those keys on your keyboard, you can successfully run this program. If you are using a PC, it might draw the text wierd. You might get two copies of everything or the letters will appear with spaces between them. If this is too much to deal with, let me know because I want the writers to know too. Good luck. ds
