The American Cancer Society has sent us information on free education
programs that they offer. I am polling to see if enough employees would be
interested in any session to make it worthwhile. We would need a minimum of
15 interested employees in order to schedule a particular session.
I have listed the topics available and if you are interested, please let me
know and if there is enough interest, I will contact the American Cancer
Society and schedule a convenient time.
With the 15th annual 'Great American Smokeout' upcoming on November 21, the
American Cancer Society offers -
TOBACCO AND HEALTH
FEMININE MISTAKE: WOMEN AND SMOKING
SPECIAL DELIVERY - an educational session for pregnant women
who smoke
Other sessions include -
Women's Health: The Good News About Cancer
Breast Health Program
Men's Health: What You Should Know About Cancer
Taking Control/Eating Smart
Skin Cancer
Hepatitis B and Liver Cancer
Prevention in the Workplace
I have a short description of each course if you would like further details.
Let me know if anything looks interesting!

Ok - another plea from your friendly H.R. department -
I recently put out a memo about free educational seminars offered by the
American Cancer Society. A number of employees indicated an interest in
the following seminars -
Skin Cancer
Men's Health: What You Should Know About Cancer
Taking Control/Eating Smart
Prevention in the Workplace
Women's Health: The Good News About Cancer
Breast Health Program
Here is the problem - we need a minimum of 15 people for each session in
order for the cancer society to send out a speaker. No one session has
15 people signed-up, please re-think and let me know if you would be
interested in attending one or more of the sessions. Sessions will be
brief, about an hour.
If you need more information about any session, please give me a call
at Ext. 3754 or via VAX @ grossman.
Where your health is concerned, an hour of your time is not a big
investment!

This message is directed to all Atari Games and Tengen SMOKERS! Atari Games has agreed to hire a facilitator through the American Cancer Society to help those interested employees QUIT smoking. There are five one hour sessions which would be held at Atari Games, probably in the Central Conference Room. We already have several people signed up for this program. If you are a smoker, this is a perfect opportunity to make 1991 the year to quit. Please let me know before the end of the day, Friday, September 27 if you would like to join the Smoking Cessation Program. We are trying to coordinate this program to be completed on or about November 21 to help celebrate the GREAT AMERICAN SMOKEOUT! cynde
