DRAM's

(1 / 3)

Mary, I left youi a message on your answering machine, but here is the scoop
again:

*Jed Margolin heard for Joan at Merit that 64K x 4 DRAM's are in short supply
with lengthening leadtimes. 150 NS or faster.

* We need to use these on the Multi-Sync PCB being used in STEEL TALONS.
The usage is : 4 per PCB
                  8 per Game
	       1000 games in August/September timeframe

* PLEASE SEE IF YOU CAN GET THIS QUANTITY OF DRAMS IN THIS TIMEFRAME.
We need thsi info in the next day or two.

* As a point of comparison, please get data on the 256K x 4 DRAM, you
know, price and delivery/leadtime etc. ... 150 Ns or faster.

.....calling Jed for more info and he reports that:

* Jed has already talked to Mary about this...Jed will not submit
Multi-sync to PC Design till this is resolved. Expects to have
info in a day or two at the most.

* Joe is on vacation so Leon is doing DSIII, could'nt do Multi-sync now
  anyway.

* Multi-sync was entered with "Schemactive" (sp?); has to be converted
to Viewlogic before changes can be done.

On your last point, I was promised they would keep the old system running
in order to work on my old boards or SciCards would do a conversion
program to ViewLogic. Do you know if they have done such a program?

Scicards supplied a beta test version of the software to us
yesterday. We do not expect this to be a piece of cake. We have an
agreement with Sicards to keep the Megatek/VAX system and software
until this software works satisfactorily.

The upcoming changes to Multisync will be done with the old system.
We will be attempting to convert Multisync and other boards to Workview,
(the Viewlogic system) but we will not switch over to this until we
are satisfied that everything works ok. We hope that the translation
will be transparent to the end user, but we will let you know when we
are doing it.
							Pat.
