Please call Tom McKee of Analog Devices at (408) 559-2037. He needs to get a forecast for our use of ADSP-2101s. (He is filling in for Margot while she has her baby, and is her boss.) This is what makes it complicated: The ADSP-2101KP-50, Atari pn 137662-050, (IC,CMOS,DSP,50MHz,68P,PLCC) has design problems that they do not plan to fix until the end of the summer. In the meantime they will select-out parts that will work in my circuit. The label on these special parts will be "AD 90461-1". I am getting a new Atari part number for it and will use this new number on my parts list. This part is used on the DS III board which I am still checking out. By all appearances, we will use this board (which replaces ADSP II) on: Steel Talons BMX Street Driver DS III also uses an ADSP-2105KP-40 which is not affected by their poor design. However, this part is used on the DS III board to do Sounds and the EDs will probably use Brad's Sound Board on Steel Talons. The Eds' game did very well on field test and will probably be a big hit so we will need a lot of 2101s. If and when they get the regular IC to work we will switch over to that part. Regards, jed
