Beware there seems to be a bug in the 34010 C compiler.  I was trying
to load a bit field but the code loaded 16 bits.  There seems to be a missing
SETF instruction.  I believe the compiler thought the last one was still in
effect across all the calls to the floating point routines.  If you need more
