I have had the belief for some time now that (sooner or later) I
would need to shake up my life. Two weeks ago I closed on a new house and
on a new job... I achieved "shake up".

Of course, the decision to leave Atari was very difficult. Any good
job is tough to leave, but very few places are like Atari. I need to make
clear that my decision to leave is not a statement about Atari. Rather, it
is a statement about my own restlessness.

To those of you that I have been lucky enough to work with, I want
to say thank-you. It has been an honor and a privilege to work with you.

						Sincerely,

							JFS

PS:
Be careful, the senior sales staff became entirely too dependent
on Dave and I, to the point that they needed to be released upon our
departure. The guilt can be awful. Try to keep the new staff in line.

PSS:
Rich, don't think of it as losing a game designer, think of it as
losing a Dodger fan, that should make it a whole lot easier to take.

one last bug for the road...
