Leaded gas is gone as you hot-rodders know, but where does that leave the older high compression engines of pre-73, that were designed to run on leaded gas? My 71-Z has a 12:1 compression ratio and people have told me that I should stick with high octane/leaded gas. They say lead substitute should be added to the unleaded gas, so the valves don't wear out prematurely. But others say that's a myth. If you know what I'm talking about and have any ideas, I'ld like to hear from you. -Farrokh-
